What this calculator tells you

The result is an energy-cost estimate. Charging losses, battery conditioning, weather, speed, charger pricing and session fees can make the amount paid differ from the simple calculation.

Formula

Charging cost = (Distance ÷ Efficiency in distance/kWh) × Price per kWh

Worked example

For 1,000 km at 5 km/kWh and an electricity price of 0.30 per kWh, estimated energy use is 200 kWh and estimated charging cost is 60.
